4.3~5.0 g/cm³ (depending on the type of mineral)
The density of manganese ore varies depending on the type of mineral. The density range of the main industrial manganese minerals is as follows:
Pyrolusite (MnO₂)
Density: 4.3~5.0 g/cm³
Characteristics: The manganese content is as high as 63.19%, often in block or powder aggregates, and the color ranges from light gray to black.
Pseudomanganese ore (MnO₂)
Density: 4.72~4.83 g/cm³
Characteristics: The crystals are conical or dense blocks, the color ranges from brown-black to steel gray, and the hardness is relatively high (6~6.5).
Brownite
Density: 4.7~5.0 g/cm³
Characteristics: The color is dark gray to black, often in grape-shaped or stalactite-shaped blocks.
Hesperogeneous manganese ore
Density: 4.7~4.9 g/cm³
Characteristics: The most manganese-rich anhydrous mineral, with reddish brown streak and hardness of about 5.
